How to Decorate Christmas Card Envelopes

How to Decorate Christmas Card Envelopes

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love Christmas time and even as an adult I feel the magic, the love, and the excitement of Christmas. One of my favorite things about this time of the year is sending out Christmas Cards. I love to send a card with cute pictures of our children. I am a firm believer in using Christmas pictures in Christmas clothes with a Christmas background for our card, but this year that didn't work out for us. I went on a mission to find a cute Christmas card that matched pictures from the fall and Tiny Prints had the perfect card. This was my first time buying a photo card on card stock paper and my husband and I fell in love with it. From now on this is the type of card we will be buying.

As I was buying the cards, it gave me all sorts of options for decorations on the inside of the envelope and of course an added price. I had already spent more on these amazing cards so adding polka dots or stripes, etc to the inside of the envelope was out of the question. I had an idea to make my own decoration for the back of the envelope that matched the design on our card.

I picked this amazing card from http://www.tinyprints.com. So I decided to decorate our envelope with holly leafs and berries the same colors as in the card. The berries just popped out to me as a perfect fit for the envelope.

On my Cricut Explore I cut out a berry branch about 6 inches long and berries in a matching dark pink color.

Then I glued the berries onto the holly vine and let them dry for an hour. Then I put the card in the envelopes, sealed the envelopes and then glued the holly berry vine along the seal of the envelope.

It just added a special touch to the envelopes and brought the envelope and the card together in the same Christmas decor on the inside and out. If you don't have a Cricut, which I didn't for years, use Christmas stickers or cut out shapes of a tree, candy cane, Santa, gingerbread, stocking or anything that would match your card in beautiful paper.

I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas filled with love, laughter, and joy. Enjoy the day and all the days leading up to Christmas.
