Have you ever been given a gift and not opened it right away? That’s what happened to me with my cookie press. My parents had gifted it to me many years (I’m not even sure what year I got it) because cookie press cookies are a Christmas tradition in our family. Every year, I just ate my moms cookies, but my kids fell in love with them last Christmas. Now that my kids love them, I had to open my cookie press and today I’m sharing my easy cookie press recipe.

Let’s Make some Easy Buttery Christmas Treats
Here is my cookie press. The kids were so excited to take it out of the box.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was super easy to use. Each cookie press image was different for how many times you had to click the handle of the press, but it was super easy to get the hang of. The dough is very buttery so you constantly have to wash your hands because it was hard to hold the press and click with slippery fingers.
The Dixie Crystal non stick reusable silicone mat was a perfect work space. The cookie dough didn’t stick at all and it was so easy to clean.
These cookies don’t use parchment paper, but this mat can be used over and over again instead of parchment paper, it can be used in the oven up to 482 degrees. The collapsible measuring cups are also one of my new favorite baking accessories. Easy to stack on top of each, clean and store!
I used a couple different types of disc for the cookies press. For decorating, I highly recommend adding decorations as soon as they come out of the oven. On the Christmas Trees, I added the decorations first, but they melted in the oven.
Cookie press cookies are so easy to make and decorate. It warms my heart to see this tradition carry on with my children. Do you have a family cookie recipe that you make each year?
