4th of July Parade Bag

Do your red, white, and blue cuties get bored waiting for the parade? The 4th of July will be here soon and I see the stores are filled with red, white, and blue fun stuff. One of our 4th of July traditions is going to the local parade. The kids all love the parade, but its waiting for the parade to start that is the tough part.

The kids are bubbling over with excitement in anticipation so last year I created “Parade Bags” to keep them busy until the parade started and it also doubled as a place to put candy from the parade.

The Parade Bag is easy to put together. I put in things to keep them busy at the parade and items for later. I only have to make 3 parade bags so I pick up things at the dollar store or the Target dollar section. I try to buy everything in a red, white, blue American theme.

Here is a Fun Kid Approved List for Parade Bags:

Reusable Shopping Bag
Bubbles
Crayons/Markers
Coloring Book
Sunglasses
Pinwheel
Cheerleader Pom Poms
Necklaces
Bracelots
Wands
Glow Sticks
Squirt Gun
Snacks
Water Bottle
Beach Ball
Small American Flags

The other amazing aspect about these parade bags (I almost forgot) is that they will keep your children busy and they won’t beg (I mean ask) for you to buy them things from the vendors walking around. It will save you money to! I try to buy everything for the parade bag without my children so it’s a surprise on the 4th of July.

I hope your family has an amazing 4th of July! Happy 4th of July!
